Jace is 3

Three years ago, we had the sweetest boy join our family. He is so gentle hearted, fun and humorous, the life of the party, and extremely smart. We are so glad to have him in our family.

I also wanted to recap his birth story. I labored all day on the 23rd and went to the hospital about 7:15pm. After a ton of paperwork, an epidural, and some relaxation...I was to a 10 way faster than the doctor expected. He had me rest for two hours and then we started to push for 2 and a half more. Only to our dismay...we were not making more progress. After a hard decision, we decided to use the forceps, which was a great option for our sweet boy, but not for me. He was born at 2:29am on the 24th of January and was healthy. I didn't get to hold him for about another 2 hours, due to all the stitching that had to take place after my class III tears (I don't recommend that for anyone...it took at least 6 months to fully recover from those tears). Also, they had to restabilize me from being in shock...it was a very horrific experience...hence, I gave birth naturally with no epidural to our next one, with a different doctor. I didn't want a repeat of his birth. All in all, I am glad he is here and love how much he blesses our life on a daily basis!!

These are just a few of the cute pictures I have. There are a lot and there were way too many to chose from. We have a ton of cute videos of him too...but you will have to look through the blog to find those.

The birthday party with the cousins!

Since his birthday fell on a sunday this year, the next day Grandma and Grandpa Jenson took him bowling...which was so fun! He tied with Grandpa bowling a 105!!!

It is official!

So, most of you know the story of my parents, but they finally received their mission call.....

They will be serving in the (I hope I get this right) Fort Worth Texas office mission!

The realization that they are going really hit today...and even more so when they told us that they report on February 15th....not even a month away.

I have really mixed emotions. I am so glad they are going and doing the Lord's work, but I sure will miss them! Ultimately, I know they will be blessed as will their whole family! Congrats to them :)

Mckelle at 5 months

Mckelle is officially 5 months old and all grown up! She is so advanced for her age, but I am sure it has to do with her personality. She is just not content, unless she is apart of what is going on.
A few milestones she has reached are:

~~She is now on 3 solid meals a day and is doing so much better with solids.

~~She is even off of her acid reflux medication and I am hoping to keep her off of it.

~~She also continues to sleep anywhere from 8-10 hours at night...which I am loving!

~~She recently has been pulling herself up on her hands and knees and then does the rocking back and forth...not much longer before she is crawling. The other morning I had her on a blanket by the couch and within about 30 mins she had made it over by the front door just by rolling and pulling herself with her hands and pushing off with her feet.

~~She can sit up by herself for about 5-10 seconds.

~~She watches Jace when he plays and I can just see in her eyes that she can't wait to play with him.

~~She also has had some "Daddy" moments lately...which are just so cute. She gives him the sweetest smiles that make his day!

She really just amazes me everyday at how tough she is...she is nothing like Jace ever was as a baby! But really it is nice to have two totally different kids. We are so grateful to have her here with us!

Christmas 2009

These are his new Stegosaurus pajamas that grandma and grandpa got him...Christmas eve gift he got to open.

Our little goof ball hopped up on some candy! Excited for Christmas and all the other good stuff that comes with it.

This is what Mckelle got for Christmas...and honestly she eats cereal way better in this than in her car seat!

And Jace's new ride...he is so excited and has been riding it all over the house! We both can't wait for spring!

A funny little memory I want to remember is that we actually had to wake the kids up on christmas morning. Every other day of life Jace is usually up no later than 7:30...well...Christmas morning 8:00 rolls around and neither of my normal early risers are awake...what funny kids I have eh?

Temple Square 12-19-2009

I have wanted to take Jace to Temple Square for the longest time to see the lights, the temple, the nativity, and the visitors center. We finally did it this year...thanks to my parents for watching Mckelle.

This one is on the steps up by the doors to the temple...Jace thought this was really neat!

In the visitors center they have these huge pictures of Jesus' life in sequence. Brett took the opportunity to tell Jace the story. Jace loves to hear stories from his dad. In fact, every night or most nights he gets a "Mike and Mark" story. These are stories about 2 boys and it usually has a moral to the story...Jace just loves them...and was very excited about the story of Jesus' life!
