Fall Soccer 2011

We put Jace in a U5 soccer league this year and Brett has been his coach.  He has come a long way in the 8 week season.  At the beginning he was making goals for the wrong team and would still bust out with airplane or Buzz Lightyear moves.  But now he can stop the ball, turn it around, and make goals for his team.  He is also more focused and more aggressive at getting the ball.  He LOVES soccer and he LOVES having Brett as his coach.  It is great bonding time for them.  And of course, Brett does a great job!  He has always worked really well with kids...that is why he does what he does for a living.  Enjoy the MANY pics from the season!

And of course, Mckelle and I were there every game cheering him and Brett on!
And during most practices, Mckelle couldn't help but be out there helping and learning herself.

Pumpkin Walk 2011

Every year the Benson Grist Mill puts on a Pumpkin Walk and this year we were lucky enough to go with our friends, the Wollenziens.
Our Pirate and Spiderman...aka...Tate and Jace
 Our Woody twins...aka...Brylee and Mckelle
The 4 of them waiting for the candy cannon to go off.

HAY FUN!

And of course, I will throw in a pic of our great husbands who go on these crazy adventures with us.
Brett with Sam behind him to the right.
It is SO fun to go with such great friends!

Nobody can do for little children what grandparents do. Grandparents sort of sprinkle stardust over the lives of little children!

As most of you know, my parents returned from their mission a couple of months ago, and after living with us for a couple of weeks they decided to stay in the same town and now only live a street away from us.  We are TOTALLY eating this up.  There is not a day that passes by that we don't see them.  Most days, when the kids wake up the first thing they want to do is go say good morning to Grandma and Grandpa. It is so close, that I let Jace roam back and forth between the two houses.  We just love it...and here are a few other reasons why...

Grandma reads them many books

And we get to enjoy holiday traditions...like carving pumpkins!
Although in the above pictures, Jace looks like he is having so much fun pulling the guts out, he really isn't.  We had to coax him to do it and once he finally decided he could do it, he started dry heaving....ABSOLUTELY HILARIOUS!  The below picture is really more of how much he enjoyed it.
And of course this girl is all smiles and fun about the whole thing!
Do you see how happy the kids are...SERIOUSLY?

We also have been doing Family Home Evening together and it is great to have their insights and ideas...
This week we discussed the whole armour of God by decorating sugar cookie men and all their armour. (This was an activity that they did in sunday school on sunday and it worked great with our kids too).

I am so glad we are making up for lost time.  I know it will be short lived, because life does change, but we are definitely making the most of it while it lasts.  I am truly thankful for this "blessing" especially since Brett is gone so much, it makes my days easier and much more joyful.
