What we have been up to!

Sorry no pics this time...but will soon come...we have just been having a few more computer problems, but will hopefully be fixed in the next two weeks. So, now that I got that out of the way I will fill you in on what has been happening with us.

We found Jace a new twin bedroom set, complete with dresser, nightstand and matresses for a great deal. We made the change a few days ago, and he has done wonderful....NO sleepless nights, and he hasn't fallen off. I am sure that it helped that the new sheets we got him are all tractors and trucks. The other morning one of the first things he said to me was "I am a tractoraholic". It was so cute because he normally says he is a chocaholic...so tractors have moved up in the world. He is absolutely adorable and I am loving staying at home with him.

We continue to work on the potty training thing and he is opposite than most kids. #2 is really easy for him and he is doing it 3 or 4 times a week in the big boy toilet, but #1is just trouble....so many accidents, it is frustrating. But we will continue to work with him....I am hoping to have it done before little sister is here.

Our weather is gorgeous, except for the snow today. We have finally had more warm days than cold days and I am loving it. We go for bike rides, walks, play outside (all the time), and have broken out the BBQ...one of my favorites. I would have to say spring is finally here!

I am doing great with the pregnancy...only 16 more weeks to go! I am totally nesting!!!! Brett thinks it is hilarious. I may have pushed myself though...I am pretty sure I have a hernia...I have had them before and am more prone to getting them. I go to see the doctor this week and we will see what he says...he better not tell me to take it easy...spring just got here...j/k!

Jace is really excited and walks around the house with his blanket (as the baby) rocking and snuggling the baby...boy does he have a rude awakening coming! It really is so sweet though that he loves the baby!

This coming week, Brett and I get to go stay at the Anniversary Inn. I have always wanted to spend a night there, but have been too cheap to do it, but since some friends gave us a gift certificate, my dream is coming true! If you aren't familiar with what it is...go google it and look at the amazing rooms. We decided to stay in "Rich's Drive In". It will be so fun, but I am a little nervous to leave the little guy (Jace) for one night....this is a first...but well needed.

So, definitely pictures to come...but I didn't want everyone thinking we fell off the face of the earth....we are actually doing great and are loving life! Who wouldn't love life with a family like mine...I love them so MUCH!!!

Baby Animal Days!

The friends we went with...Sam, Shauna, Tate, and Brylee
Tate and Jace checking it all out!

Baby Turtles
Baby Chicks
Baby Bunnies
Seriously, what a cheeseball!

Baby ducks - they were wigglers!

Jace talked about the Easter Bunny the rest of the day! He had no problems going and sitting on his lap...this kid is fearless! He just had to check him out first.

Our little "jailbird"!
So happy to be in there...do we have our hands full or what?
We had a great time and the weather was PERFECT, we even got a little sunburned, but nothing that didn't go away the next day. I guess spring is finally HERE! I am so excited!

Easter Egg Hunt!

So we got a few of Jace's friends together for an easter egg hunt the other day. It was something special to watch these 2 year old boys figure out what to do. They eventually caught on and had a fun time. I was so glad the weather cooperated for us to do it outside.

Tate, Jace and Jack
The boys finally figuring it out!
Jace so excited to have found the egg on the table
The goods after it was all over...they had fun and so did we (their moms)!

Last Day of Work!

So yesterday was my last day of work and it was kind of bittersweet! About 2 weeks ago, Brett and I decided it was time for me to be at home full time for a couple of reasons...but to name a few....
Brett is so close to finishing school he just needs more time to work on his thesis and this will free up one to two days a week that he can actually spend on it instead of being home with Jace (Because we all know you can try to get things done while watching a child, but really is ineffective).
Two, I am 5 and half months prego and working is way more exhausting than when I was prego with Jace....probably because I could go home and sleep and not have to worry about coming home to a family and house that still needs my care.
And last of all, we just felt the promptings that this is the time and we have been so blessed since just making the decision. We have felt that this is really important to our Heavenly Father for all the little things that have come together for our good.
We don't know exactly how it will work out financially, but we have a pretty good idea at this point of how much we will have to take out of savings each month.
As David O McKay once said, “No other success can compensate for failure in the home.”
Wish me luck...I hope I can be a great "stay at home Mom"!

Putting Jace to Bed

Tucking Jace into bed had become one of the highlights of my day, just because of some of the things he says. I wanted to recap some of my recent favorites!

Jace - Mom, I can smell the cows.
Mom - Really!
Jace - Yeah, they must be pooping.
I couldn't help but laugh, because we live on the outer areas of Logan and there are more than a few cow farms around...hence, it usually doesn't smell great outside of our house.

This one happened on a sunday night while he was saying his prayers.
Jace - Dear Heavenly Father, Thank you for singing time, In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
I guess that was all he was thankful for that day...but at least he loves singing time in nursery.

He is just so cute and never ceases to make us laugh...what a blessing he is in our life!
