Moms don't get sick or should I say they CAN'T get sick!

For the last two weeks the Eggett family has been suffering from the flu...aka influenza type A. All three of us have suffered from the various symptoms of a wicked cough, a spiking fever, uncomfortable achy body, endless runny nose and congestion. Jace is almost completely over it with just a little cough and runny nose. Brett didn't suffer too bad since he has been on antivirals, antibiotics, steroids, and he did have a flu shot. But really what I wanted to blog about is how moms have the hardest time getting better because they are busy taking care of everyone else. I was almost better and then with the stress of life and trying to take care of the family, I totally did a u-turn, my fever spiked, my ribs are bruised from coughing so much, and I actually was sick to my stomach and just so weak. When I went to the doctor, she asked me "Have you been pushing yourself to get the daily things done?" I answered "Of course I have. I am a mom and I work. Life goes on with or without me". Well, we all know how the doctor responded...she just reminded me that if I don't take care of myself, that it could last forever. Thankfully she gave me an antibiotic and I promised myself that for the rest of the weekend I will try and get as much sleep and rest as possible. If any of you know my personality.....this is extremely hard for me. The one positive thing about having the flu is that it is just hopefully a sign of spring...which I think all of us are ready for. I am...for SURE!

The Kleenex box...one by one!

I went to work the other day and when I came home the camera was sitting on the couch (a little unusual). Let me back up a little here...Brett and I switch Jace at my work when I am done so that Brett can run off to school. So when Jace and I got home and I saw the camera....I thought hum....So I turned on the camera and sure enough I found this cute video of Jace getting into mischief. One of my second thoughts was...this would never happen if I was watching him, but then I realized that it only takes Jace 5 seconds to get into mischief and it totally could have happened while I was home too! Sorry Brett for thinking that your daddy watching isn't very good...you really are a GREAT Dad! I love you!

He's WALKING!

Watch out Mom and Dad is what Jace is saying now! Jace has been trying to walk for the last 2 weeks and now it is official...he is teetering around everywhere. He really is just so much fun. Brett and I have enjoyed watching every growing and changing moment.

my COLOR!

After reading the test results for my friend (wonderful Crystal) and seeing that they were pretty accurate...it spiked my interest to find out what color I am. I think that the results describe me to a tee...scary actually! I would love to hear what colors and results each of you are. But here are the results:

Take this test!

Your color is black. The color of night. Serene and mysterious, black conjures up images of elegant evening gowns, dashing tuxedos, and gleaming limousines. Traditionally a symbol of success, black also represents power and an uncompromising demand for perfection. Not surprisingly, you tend to set challenging goals for yourself and do whatever it takes to achieve them — your strength of character is second to none. This unfaltering determination, along with your natural elegance, impresses people. But keep in mind that your personality might be intimidating to some. Try to temper your demanding side with a little softness — trust us, it won't kill you. Overall, though, black is the color of professionalism and achievement, which means it's clearly the color for you.
